On Thursday, Charlotte’s world famous Milestone Club (facebook, Instagram) celebrated World Goth Day with a special concert featuring goth, post-punk, synthpop, and darkwave bands – including some regional favorite and friends of Charlotte Dark Scene.
Throughout the night, DJ Deathflower (CharlotteDarkScene, Tidal, Instagram), who splits her time between Greensboro, North Carolina and Charlotte, NC spun a mix of old school industrial, gothic rock, new wave and hip-hop favorites.
Up first was Greensboro, NC transsexual goth bass-heavy post punk darkwave solo act Mostly Mesh (CharlotteDarkScene, LinkTree, Instagram).
Up next were the Fargo, ND dark-wave post punk duo Loum (Bandcamp, Instagram).
The penultimate band of the night, Peruvian-American Bocanegra (CharlotteDarkScene, instagram), joined us from Winston-Salem, NC, and performed their bilingual post punk and industrial-rock.
Closing out the night was Charlotte’s own darkwave/industrial duo Solemn Shapes (CharlotteDarkScene, Instagram), just returning from a mini tour and a one-off set supporting Anders Manga at Dark Force Fest 2026.
