Hello CDS Faith-less!
RF20XX released 4 MONTHS WORTH of Digital Noir shots, all captured within our very own World Famous Milestone Club.
How would I accurately describe each night going into the monthly social/dance-off? It’s not a hard thing to do necessarily, but these nights are a layered affair to consider. Each date, DJ Spider (CDS Artist Profile), a veteran sound mixologist not only to the Charlotte Music Scene, but a storied one of many decades from around the country, invites a special guest to spin alongside them on-stage.
The result is most always a mash-up of music theory, tastes, and occasionally ingenious absurdity, all to the delight of those on the dance floor. From Goth & Industrial, to New Wave classics, with a dose of pop thrown in here & there, and always a helping of mashups and covers one might think inconceivable, Spider & Co. cover the bases and light up the ‘Stone with sound and feeling.
Spider especially pushes to end on the latter point by the time 2am hits; as the last request wraps up, the hour strikes, and Kermit the Frog’s “Rainbow Connection” brings who remains to the floor. Arms link, kicks are had, and voices synchronize. The song comes up to remind those in the building that no matter who they might identify as or claim to be, there is love for them, and of them, while Spider is at the helm.
If you’ve ever considered going on the nights Digital Noir is held, a bit of advice, friend; buy your tickets early (Sold out for 2 years +) [Editor: September Digital Noir page with Ticket Link], dress how you like, and when in the house, drink plenty of water. It will be a night to remember, especially if you’re aiming to go the length of the show. ~
