On a warm and sunny Sunday afternoon, the day after Goth Prom, Charlotte, NC’s Children of the Night gathered at Marion-Diehl Park to celebrate our 10th annual World Goth Day picnic. While DJ Spider (CharlotteDarkScene, IG), the hostess with the mostess, MC’d, DJ Squeaky (CharlotteDarkScene) & DJ Velvetine (CharlotteDarkScene, IG) kept everyone’s pointy boots boppin’ with a mix of goth, industrial, synthpop, post punk, and darkwave. Meanwhile, Candy from Tenderlash (CharlotteDarkScene, IG) tended bar and a team of volunteers managed the Goth Swap clothing exchange and the potluck dinner which catered to all kinds of dietary needs. Donations were raised for The Trevor Project, an American non profit focused on sucide prevention for LGBTQ youth.
