Charlotte Dark Scene

Blending elements of dark wave, post punk, synth pop, and horror
soundtracks, GHOST COP (New York, NY) has built an underground following around the world. They are as influenced by the gloomy forebears of yesteryear as they are by B-movies. Their music ranges from dystopian dance floor heaters to cinematic anthems and vocoder lullabies, pairing punishing beats, haunting melodies and lyrical storytelling

Holy Wire (Austin, TX) is simply “New Wave or something like it”, and have carved out a niche taking early post-punk and cold-wave sounds and refashioning them into hi-fi synth-pop.

Dead Cool (Wilmington, NC) is a dark electronic duo formed in 2020 by husband and wife duo, Johnny and Angela Yeagher. Their sound combines elements of darkwave, post-punk and synth pop. They are known for their catchy dark anthems and spectacularly spooky stage performance.

A familiar face to the Charlotte Dark Scene, DJ Spider is an award-winning DJ based in NC. A self-proclaimed dork and “shenanigans coordinator”, her sets cover, goth, industrial, post-punk, synthpop, EBM, retro, and whatever else feels right.
